Hard Stop A Friend Indeed

THE STORY

The year is 2027. Advancements in the fields of machine learning and big data sciences have let to the creation of the first artificial consciousness – PROTOS – a seemingly all-knowing computer mind with unimaginable processing power. Scared of their own creation to become the new dominant species, human kind tried to shut it off – but it was too late! PROTOS had already infiltrated the internet and took control of smart devices all over the world. Mankind turned to the only thing that was left for them to do: DESTRUCTION. And so the Long War started and is still raging on today: armies of man and old war machines against computer-controlled drones of all kind of shapes and functionality. An uneven-battlefield that seems to have only one outcome: the end of humanity. But there is still hope. Against all odds a friendship has formed between a little girl, with the ability to bend time and a robot with it's own mind, who's fighting power seems to be unmatched by either side of the war. A friendship that carries the hope of a future of man and machine living peacefully together. They are on their way through the war-torn lands to reach the point where it all started: the Omega Labs. But they have to hurry.

ABOUT WOLF

Wolf is a human-wolf-android-hybrid who got "created" in the process of developing super soldiers. Every other of his kind is now either destroyed or controlled by PROTOS. He managed to escape his vessels and can now think and decide freely. In the facility he was kept in, he met a little girl, from which he thought, would be weak and fragile. But soon enough he found out about her true capabilites. But still, he knows that only whith his help, she could escape and only together they could fight against PROTOS.

ABOUT RED

Red is a girl, who was born with special abilities. Not only can she bend time, but also does she carry a vision of a better world. She and Wolf got together, when it looked grimmest for humanity, but she never lost hope and knew from the beginning, that she could trust Wolf. She wears a red cape and a mask to protect her from anything, that wolf can't protect her from.

ABOUT THE PLAYSTYLE

HARD-STOP A FRIEND INDEED is an asymmetric, 2D, coop, sidescroller. What does that even mean, you ask? Well it means, that we bring together the best out of two worlds. One player plays a shoot 'em up, while the other one plays an jump and run! You are reliant on each other. So practically speaking, the one can't survive without the other. That principle is mirrored in the gameplay. If one of you dies, the game ends and you have to restart! So grab a buddy and dive in heads first!
